Service Description

We are so excited to be running our first ever Teens acting masterclass with top TV Director Steve Hughes! The session will start with script work in the AM and move onto improvisation in the PM, talking through exactly what is expected from young actors working with improvisation on a TV show, actors will get the chance to improvise on the day under Steves direction. Steve's improvised episode of Casualty has just been nominated for a BAFTA. This workshop will work without a camera to allow more freedom of movement in the session with the improvisation and script work. About Steve Hughes: Steve has just finished Directing the latest series of Death in Paradise. Steve is a high-end drama director with 17 years of experience, helming over 100 hours of content during that time. He has won every major UK Award across his extensive career working in the UK and abroad, and has made drama for networks in the UK, Europe and the US. Steve has worked on a wide variety of drama in his career, he was Lead Director on period drama MISS SCARLET & THE DUKE for PBS Masterpiece and as closing director on THE LAST BUS for Netflix. “Steve is an actor’s dream of a director. He brilliantly communicates his vision at the same time listening to all contributors. You feel a valued, included and creative part of the team” — Cathy Shipton, Lisa “Duffy” Duffin, Casualty Steve has enjoyed his biggest successes on BBC’s flagship medical drama, Casualty, most notably directing both the 30th and 35th Anniversaries. His episodes have won Best Continuing Drama at the RTS Awards (twice in 2015 and 2022), BAFTA Awards (2022) and Broadcast Awards (2022) where the judging panel made special mention of his contribution to the drama’s COVID 19 episode. He has held Lead Director status on numerous dramas over his career, and has worked closely with showrunner writer/creators including Mark A Altman (PANDORA for The CW), Rob Butler and Bede Blake (CREEPED OUT for Netflix) and Steven Moffat (DOCTOR WHO for BBC One). He has also been the go to 2nd Unit Director for big budget, international drama including KILLING EVE (BBC), TREADSTONE (Amazon), STRIKE BACK (Sky Cinema) and THE FEED (Amazon). ages 13-16 years. *Please note, workshop information will be sent out to the email address provided at the time of the booking so please do always check it is correct/please do also check your junk folder if you haven't received material or information prior to the workshop*

Anything less than 24 hours noice is non-refundable due to scheduling. Cancellation policy for Casting/Agent workshops: Unless stated otherwise ALL workshops require 5 days (120 hours) notice for any refunds/credit. Anything less than 5 days (120 hours) notice is non-refundable/cannot be re-credited due to the nature of the course/workshop. Cancellation policy for Weekly Acting for Screen Drop-in Classes: For all refunds/credit 48 hours notice is required. Anything less than 48 hours notice is non-refundable/cannot be re-credited due to the nature of the class. Cancellation policy for ALL Director Workshops/Masterclasses: Please note Terms and conditions: Unless stated all Director workshops/masterclass require 7 days notice for any refunds/credit (minus £5 admin fee). By paying you agree to these terms. ALL Take One Memberships once purchased for the full fee of £25 are non-refundable and are active for 365 days.
