Service Description

This is a practical IN THE ROOM workshop where actors will get the chance to perform under the direction of Anwar exploring scripts, all footage will be recorded on our 4k Cinema camera and sent to actors following the session. About Anwar Boulifa Anwar is an experienced TV and Film director whose latest episodes as Director on Eastenders are currently airing on BBC Iplayer. A Screen International Star of Tomorrow and award winning filmmaker whose first short film A Short Guide to Re-Entry went on to win both the Bill Douglas Award and the InternationalAudience Award at Glasgow Short Film Festival. His second film Templates made in conjunction with Film London and the BFI Network premiered at Encounters Film Festival. He was selected for the 34th session of the Cannes Cinefondation Residence in Paris where he developed the script for a feature film - The Unwanted - in development with the BFI and BBC Films. He has a Producer credit on the documentary 'Things We Won’t Say About Race That Are True', which won a Grierson Award. He has been selected for the talent labs at Edinburgh International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival and his poetry has been published in literary journals. His latest feature length film project The Nazarene is currently in development with Film4. What will this Masterclass involve? In this all day masterclass you will be sent sides in advance. You will be paired up and work in an "on-set style" receiving direction and guidance from Anwar in a safe, supportive space. You'll explore how elements such as blocking can really affect a scene and get the opportunity to really explore and play within an "on-set" environment. Anything less than 5 days (120 hours) notice is non-refundable/cannot be re-credited due to the nature of the course/workshop. Cancellation policy for Courses (Get Set Ready): Unless stated otherwise ALL courses require 7 days notice (168 hours) for all refunds/credit (minus £5 admin fee). Anything less than 7 days (168 hours) is non-refundable/cannot be re-credited due to the nature of the class. Please note with all courses once you have signed up you're expected to attend all sessions. If you miss a session this cannot be credited/refunded. Cancellation policy for Weekly Acting for Screen Drop-in Classes: For all refunds/credit 72 hours notice is required (minus £5 admin fee). Anything less than 72 hours notice is non-refundable/cannot be re-credited due to the nature of the class. Cancellation policy for ALL Director Workshops/Masterclasses: Unless stated all Director workshops/masterclass require 7 days notice (168 hours) for any refunds/credit (minus £5 admin fee).
